Goat Control Operation 2023

We've employed the services of professional contractors to carry out a 3-day goat control operation starting from Friday 19 May 2023.

About the operation

This 3-day operation will be underway on the Ben Lomond Reserve near the Skyline gondola (while it is closed) from this Friday 19 May 2023. This operation aims to reduce the likelihood of goats becoming a hazard or nuisance to users of the tracks and trails, to vehicles and to native vegetation.

This operation (highlighted on the map in orange) will involve ground hunting, and all professional hunters will be clearly visible.

Public walking tracks and mountain biking trails remain open, but signage will be in place. If members of the public are asked to wait by the contractor, please do so.

Please note that this operation is weather dependent.
