A boil water is in place for businesses and properties across Queenstown following a number of confirmed local cases of illness caused by the protozoa, cryptosporidium. This affects properties serviced by the Council-managed water supply to Queenstown CBD, Fernhill, Sunshine Bay and Queenstown Hill. Read more here.

Online Rates Payments

Direct Debit is our preferred payment method and means you’ll never forget to pay. If you’d like to set up a direct debit complete the form below and send it to rates@qldc.govt.nz.

You can also pay your rates using Visa or Mastercard.

Important information

Credit card payment information

Online credit card payments are hosted by Windcave and connect directly to our system. This will display your property details and full rates balance for you to review prior to payment. Only Visa or MasterCard payments are accepted.  The system has been set to only allow payment of the full rates balance. 

Processing time

Please allow sufficient time before your instalment due date for processing of your payment. Payments made after 5.00pm New Zealand time will appear in your rates account the following business day. If a payment is made on the due date but after 5.00pm, then a 5% penalty will be incurred.

Processing fees

A service fee of 2.49% per transaction (minimum fee $1.00) is applied by our bank, Bank of New Zealand. Queenstown Lakes District Council does not receive any part of the fee.
