Wānaka Town Centre Masterplan
About the project
The Wānaka Town Centre Masterplan focuses on how the town centre functions in the future. This includes a preferred programme of transport improvements to ensure good access to and around the town centre and wider urban area of Wānaka.
Progress and next steps
Following strong feedback from the community back in August 2019, the Wānaka Community Board agreed that more detailed investigation was required before the Wānaka Town Centre Masterplan could be endorsed.
Under the Way to Go Umbrella, we will now progress a Network Optimisation Single Stage Business case which will focus on improvements to get the most of out of the existing transport network, including more opportunities for active travel, intersection upgrades and an integrated parking strategy.
You'll start to hear more about these projects in the coming months.
