From Monday 18 September there will be no parking available directly outside the Gorge Road Council office due to construction activity associated with the Town Centre Arterial Road. Our Gorge Road Council office will be open as usual. But if you’d prefer, you can make use of our online services via our website or give us a call on 03 441 0499.

Strong winds and heavy rain have affected many roads and some properties across the district. Queenstown emergency services and QLDC are currently dealing with a number of properties impacted by the weather. Some residents have self-evacuated and those requiring shelter are being supported at Queenstown Memorial Hall. Further information here.

Building Services

Ngā Whakaratonga Waihanga

Our Building Services team provides support to our local community - including builders, architects, developers, and members of the public who may not have built before. We can assist with any of your building queries such as building consent applications, inspections and compliance checks, and Building Code guidance.

Note: Certain developments will also require a Resource Consent alongside a Building Consent, so please also refer to the Resource Consents page for information.

Delays expected with building consent applications

Our Building Services Processing team always works as hard as possible to process building consents we receive within the statutory 20 working day timeframe.

However, following a significant surge in consents lodged at the end of April, including 40 consents in one day alone, applicants should expect some delays to current building consents waiting to be processed. Our team is working hard to work through this backlog, and we hope to return to our usual turnaround for processing building consents as soon as possible.

eDocs - Online Document System

eDocs is our online file portal which gives public access to property and consents records.

eDocs provides an open and transparent approach to accessing property information. It enables all document records not marked as confidential to be publicly accessible. It includes, for example, emails between agents applying for Building Consent and us at QLDC.
