Marine Parade Upgrades
We're making a number of upgrades to Marine Parade in Queenstown to improve access and connection with the lakefront. Following this work the existing Pump Station infrastructure and building will also be upgraded.
Project details
Upgrades on Marine Parade aim to improve public access and connection between the town centre, lakefront and the Queenstown Gardens, and will include:
-
Brand new turf and drainage installed along the lakefront near the Memorial Archway, with a raised concrete path and new access points all helping to reduce any pooling water on rainy days.
-
Two new four bay public toilet blocks installed, replacing the current three bay toilet block. Both new bays will have an accessible toilet and a nappy changing station.
-
New furniture added on the lawn spaces. The upgrades will maximise useable space, providing a greatly improved area for people to gather and enjoy Queenstown's lakefront and events.
A tender for this work is estimated to be released in May 2022, with construction to start in August 2022.
