Statement from Chris Hadfield

Born and raised in Christchurch and a qualified geologist, I moved to Wānaka 19 years ago with my husband Paul. With a background in banking and finance I also spent many years singing with New Zealand Opera and was the theatre manager for the St James Theatre and Opera House in Wellington.

Almost 16 years ago Paul and I bought Ritual Café and immediately became involved with the greater Wānaka community.

Most recently I was the chair of the Wānaka Town Centre Business Group Inc. and became immersed in the process of looking at the potential changes to the town centre. My hope is that as an elected member of the Wānaka-Upper Clutha Community Board I will be able to assist with the challenges in growth and development that we face every day.
