Queenstown Events Centre Expansion

What we're working on

The QEC Indoor Court expansion is currently in the early design phase of the project. The team is currently working on what facilities and features will be included in the design. This process is based on the Council approved report <link to report>.

The project team is also working through the prioritisation of different options based on the community benefit, cost and deliverability of those designs.

What's coming next

The next part of this project will be to present the different options to Council. The timing of this is still to be confirmed. Once those options are considered, we’ll update this page with next steps.

What is not being worked on

At this stage in teh design process we’re not considering any additional facilit componentsother than what was included in the above linked Council report.

The procurement process to go out for further design and/or construction has also not commenced.
