About the project

Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) has employed the services of a professional Landscape Designer to further progress the community design for a new playground at Merton Park, Shotover Country. 

Once a design is finalised, QLDC will share the design publicly and release to an open market tender for construction, to ensure competitive pricing. 

This playground is a community led project through the Lake Hayes/Shotover Country Community Association (LHSCCA) who have worked alongside local residents to understand the community’s expectations. 

  • QLDC has engaged experienced professional landscape designer, Kamo Marsh Ltd, to develop the community concept plan.

  • Construction of a new playground is likely to commence mid-way through 2026 and you’ll be able to view updates here as the project progresses.
