Our district is experiencing sustained and rapid growth, which puts pressure on access to sport and recreation facilities. As the Wānaka – Upper Clutha area changes, so too do the needs of the community. Council is working hard to ensure that the high demand for more sports facilities in this area can be met.

What we're working on

The land on 101 Ballantyne Road is currently being filled and remediatedconsistent with the project approval received from Council <link to green light media release>.

There is currently a legal challenge on the ownership of land. There will be no further updates until this case is resolved.

What's coming next

Due to the legal challenge on the land, next steps for the project are on hold until the case is resolved.

What is not being worked on

The future planning of the site is on hold until the legal dispute is resolved.
