A boil water is in place for businesses and properties across Queenstown following a number of confirmed local cases of illness caused by the protozoa, cryptosporidium. This affects all properties serviced by the Council’s Queenstown supply including Frankton, Quail Rise and Tucker Beach Rd, Kelvin Heights and Hanley’s Farm. Read more here.

From Monday 18 September there will be no parking available directly outside the Gorge Road Council office due to construction activity associated with the Town Centre Arterial Road. Our Gorge Road Council office will be open as usual. But if you’d prefer, you can make use of our online services via our website or give us a call on 03 441 0499.

The state of local emergency in Queenstown, originally declared on Friday morning after a severe weather event, has been lifted. However, some restrictions will remain in place to protect public safety as the focus turns to recovery. Full information here.

Arrowtown_Memorial_Pool

 Arrowtown Memorial Pool typically opens for the summer season from late November to early March. The 2022/23 season has come to a close early due to staffing issues. The 2023/24 season will be announced later this year. Stay tuned!

Normal seasonal opening hours are Monday-Sunday, 11.00am-6.00pm. 

Early closing at 5.00pm on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

  • Arrowtown Memorial Pool is currently closed for the 2022/23 season. We'll see everyone at the start of summer 2023 with dates to be announced later in the year.

    NB Opening hours for our various facilities are subject to change. This can be for pre-arranged maintenance and event bookings or occasionally for reasons beyond our control. In all cases we do our best to publicise changes in advance or as quickly as possible.

    We also offer a special 'Toddler Time' discount of $3.00 per adult, with up to two toddlers aged four and under swimming free.

    Please Note: An Arrowtown Memorial Pool swim membership doesn't include free use of other Queenstown Lakes District Council swimming facilities. However, in the event that Arrowtown pool is closed due to bad weather, Arrowtown memberships will be accepted at Alpine Aqualand (Queenstown Events Centre).     • Senior/Beneficiary: 65+ years with ID or holders of a Super Gold or Community Services Card

    • Child: 5 years - 17 years (Valid NZ High School ID required)

    • Toddler: 4 years or under

    • Family memberships: One or more dependent children living with one or two responsible adults (i.e. parents and/or caregivers) at the same address; QLDC reserves the right to request proof of address and other qualifying documents at time of purchase.

  • Main Outdoor Pool

    Our main pool is 29 metres long, has five lanes and ranges in depth from 0.9m to 1.8m. The water is heated by an LPG boiler. We aim to have at least two lanes available for public lap swimming during our operating hours.

    Toddler Pool

    Our outdoor toddler pool is 5m x 5m and 0.5m deep, with a target water temperature of 27°C. 

    Snack Shop & Picnic Area

    A small selection of drinks, snacks, sweets and ice-creams are available at our snack shop. We have a large grass area and a covered picnic area with tables and chairs available.

    Change Rooms

    Separate male and female change areas are available, including a baby change table, toilets and heated showers. For security reasons we recommend leaving your valuables at home where possible.

    Lost Property

    Any items left behind or handed into our staff will be kept in lost property as follows:

    • Valuables - handed to NZ Police after 24 hours

    • Toiletries - kept for one week and then thrown out

    • Clothing - kept for one month and then given to a local charity shop

    • Socks/Underwear - thrown out at the end of the day.
