Queenstown Lakes District Migrant Community Groups

Information regarding Queenstown Lakes District Migrant Community Groups.

Overview

We are delighted to celebrate the migrant community groups who have made the Queenstown Lakes District their home.

Here you will find a collection of profiles, showcasing the cultural diversity that adds character to our community. These profiles offer a snapshot of each group, providing an insight to how each was established and operates, its membership, and all the wonderful events and activities it’s involved in. There are also details on how to connect with each group and find out more information.

Some members of these groups have been settled in the community for several years, many have been attracted by the environment and the whakapapa of our district, bringing valuable international experience and cultural vibrancy. Like all new settlers they are keen to embrace the lifestyle and make connections while appreciating the richness of our district.

Migrant Community Group Profiles

Through the Welcoming Communities programme we support ways to celebrate diversity, grow inclusive local communities and help establish a sense of belonging for our newcomers. Whether our newcomers are migrants, former refugees, international students or Kiwi’s relocating to the district, our goal is to help make them feel welcome in their new home.

We will be adding Community Group Profiles soon.

E te iwi ō te ao,

To the people of the world,
we welcome you with warmth.
