Summerdaze
Summerdaze is a collection of events happening district-wide over the summer months. It’s all about encouraging residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors, celebrate their neighbourhood and spend time with each other. We're currently working on a collection of events so keep an eye on this page for news and updates.

Waterfront Games and Pop-Up Library
We're bringing waterfront games and pop-up libraries back for the 2022-23 Summerdaze series of events. Grab a workmate or get a crew together and challenge others to a game of cornhole, badminton, kubb, spikeball and more! Have a yarn with our friendly library team about free online resources, borrow a book to read in the sun or kick start your summer gardening with the popular seed swap. There’s no better way to spend your lunchbreak and improve your wellbeing!

Teddy Bears Picnic
We'll be hosting a Teddy Bears Picnic in both Wānaka and Queenstown in January, and you're invited!
There'll be fun for kids of all ages, with everything from story telling, a silent disco, mural painting, bubbles, a free sausage sizzle, food vendors, face painting, colouring in, magical creatures, life sized teddy bears, sports and games, a bouncy castle and much more.
So bring your favourite, most loved Teddy Bear and a picnic and come on down.
Both events are free to attend. Koha donations to Plunket welcome.

Stride, Ride and Slide
Join Sport Central's mini triathlon event for BIG little kids! Athletes aged between 2 and 6 years run, bike and slide around an age-appropriate course.
The event will take place just before the Teddy Bear’s Picnic so there is plenty of entertainment to be had afterwards.
The course is a short dash then kids jump on their wheels to push or pedal their way to the slip’ n slide and over the finish line for high fives!
Sport Otago’s play trailer and blow-up obstacle course will also be there for kids to play on while Mum, Dad and the Grandparents enjoy a coffee on the sidelines.
Queenstown
10.00am-11.00am on Saturday 28 January @ Queenstown Event Centre
Wānaka

Don’t forget your togs and wheels!
Online presale tickets will be available to purchase early in the new year for $5 which enters participants into a draw for special prizes or enter on the day for $8.
