A boil water is in place for businesses and properties across Queenstown following a number of confirmed local cases of illness caused by the protozoa, cryptosporidium. This affects properties serviced by the Council-managed water supply to Queenstown CBD, Fernhill, Sunshine Bay and Queenstown Hill. Read more here.

Summerdaze is a collection of events happening district-wide over the summer months.  It’s all about encouraging residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors, celebrate their neighbourhood and spend time with each other.  We're currently working on a collection of events so keep an eye on this page for news and updates.

Night 'n Day Queenstown Rainbow Run

The Night 'n Day Queenstown Rainbow Run is the most fun way to get active in Central Otago this spring!

Run or walk the 5km course around Frankton Reserve and prepare to become your own work of art as you pass through the five colour checkpoints.

Wear a white or black t-shirt to get the full effect! The course is family-friendly and great for kids. Under 12's must be with an Adult.

Wānaka Picnic in the Park

A vibrant games trailer, a pop up library and a kiwi classic cooked up by the Wānaka Upper Clutha Community Board!

When: Wednesday, 29 November
Time: 3.00pm to 5.00pm
Where: Wānaka Dinosaur Park, BBQ Area

Come along for a free sausage sizzle and games afternoon in Wānaka. It's the season's first Summerdaze pop-up at the Dinosaur Park in Wānaka. You'll find our event trailer packed with balls, games, and activities free for you to enjoy! Our pop-up library will be there to explore as well!

Or come chat the afternoon away with the Wānaka Upper Clutha Community Board, as they put on a free sausage sizzle for everyone to enjoy!

Teddy Bears Picnic

We'll be hosting a Teddy Bears Picnic in both Wānaka and Queenstown in January, and you're invited!  

The events are still in the early stages of organisation, so we'll announce more details at a later date! If you'd like to be considered as an entertainer, then we're currently on the lookout!

Both events are free to attend. Koha donations to Plunket welcome.
