Temporary overnight closures to northbound lane on Stalker Road

The northbound lane on Stalker Road will be closed overnight between Kahiwi Drive and State Highway 6 for approximately five weeks starting in early October, so excavation works can be carried out at night for new sewer connections in the area.

The closure will begin on Sunday 12 October, and will be in place between 7.30pm through to 6.00am every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night.

During these closure times, traffic leaving Shotover Country and heading towards SH6 will be detoured to Howards Drive.

The southbound lane on Stalker Road will remain open, and the northbound lane will be open during the day and overnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Northbound lane closure: 7.30pm Sunday 12 October – 6.00am Monday 13 October
Northbound lane closure: 7.30pm Monday 13 October – 6.00am Tuesday 14 October
Northbound lane closure: 7.30pm Tuesday 14 October – 6.00am Wednesday 15 October
Northbound lane closure: 7.30pm Wednesday 15 October – 6.00am Thursday 16 October
Northbound lane closure: 7.30pm Thursday 16 October – 6.00am Friday 17 October

Please note: these closures are expected to be in place for approximately five weeks.

Some noise should be expected as part of excavation works at the northern end of Stalker Road, but this will be monitored closely to minimise as much disruption as possible.

A full closure to both lanes of traffic on Stalker Road between Kahiwi Drive and SH6 is expected to be briefly required in early November, but more details will be shared on that closer to the time.
