Commercial Services

We don't provide commercial rubbish and recycling collection services. If you have a business or your property is rated as commercial or accommodation, you'll need to organise your own commercial waste provider.

Collection points

We've provided commercial rubbish and recycling collection points in Queenstown and Arrowtown to help keep the streets looking sharp.

These collection points are only for the temporary placement of rubbish and recycling for collection. Please ensure your rubbish and recycling are not placed at the collection point any earlier than one hour before the collection time and that any bins are returned to your property within one hour after collection.

For Arrowtown, the designated collection time is Monday to Friday at 3.00pm.

For Queenstown, the designated collection time is Monday to Friday, 8.00am or 2.00pm.

Leaving the bins at our collection points is a problem because they attract vermin. They can also smell, and they take up space on our footpaths which is a hazard for people.  All rubbish and recycling need to be presented in approved receptacles. No bagged material or items like pallets or packing crate may be left at these sites for collection.

Cardboard needs to be well contained/bundled with a prepaid sticker if not presented in a mixed recycling bin.

Please contact your commercial collector for material acceptance criteria.

Note: QLDC monitor compliance of the commercial collection point requirements. Enforcement may include Council issuing an infringement notice for every new offence. The penalty for an infringement notice can be up to $300 per offence.

Each commercial provider may have a slightly different way of doing things.  Make sure you discuss any specific requirements so you're getting the best out of the service.
