Roller Skate School

Build confidence and improve balance and coordination with this roller skating class for beginners to experienced skaters!

  • A roller skating class for absolute beginners to experienced skaters with coach Yazmin! Learn to skate safely with fun games, drills and skills to take your skating to the next level.

This class is recommended for kids 5+ years old. Please bring your own skates if you can, but skates can be hired on the day.

We're currently trying to create an adult focused class for next year, so stay tuned!

  • Wednesdays 4.00pm to 5.00pm starting 18 January to 1 March (6 weeks)

  • Roller Skate School will be held at the Queenstown Events Centre stadium courts.

  • The programme is $45 (just $7.50 a session).

Login to your account and book.

  • Is this just for kids?

Yes this is just for children 5 years or older. However, due to the demand we're going to try and organise an adult class. If you want to reserve your spot or be notified about this, then please email alexa.peters@qldc.govt.nz.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your own skates for your child. If you don't have skates, they can be hired but it's great for learning if they get used to their own pair!

Bringing a helmet , knee and elbow protection is also highly recommended!

    What about Rollerblading?

Rollerblades should be fine but the drills and exercises are specifically for roller skates. You'll be able to hire them if you don't have a pair. Some of the drills and exercises will be transferrable to rollerblading, however we encourage you to wear roller skates during the class.
